Mai Thoi

Manager of Content Development and Programming

University of Houston, 2012

Bachelor of Science, Interdisciplinary Studies: (Teaching and Learning)

Mai Thoi is the Manager of Content Development and Programming at the Center for Transforming Alternative Preparation Pathways (CTAPP) at Dallas College. In her role, she supports alternative teacher certification programs throughout Texas, focusing on creating and implementing high-quality pathways that enhance novice teacher and educator effectiveness.

Mai graduated from the University of Houston in 2012 with a degree in Teaching and Learning majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. Her experiences as a student within a marginalized community inspired her to pursue instructional work in elementary education and work as a secondary teacher with YES Prep Public Schools.

Looking to increase her impact, she transitioned into instructional leadership as a field supervisor with Teaching Excellence where she supported novice teachers’ growth and improved classroom outcomes through coaching, leading professional development, and implementing data-driven systems.

Mai’s work is reflective of her passion to ensure quality education is accessible to all students. She is excited to continue that mission with CTAPP where she will be able to engage in work that will ensure the best outcome across all classrooms.
